After a two year absence, the Odessa Fair Poultry Show was back in 2022, with the show held August 27th and 28th 2022 in the KDPPSA building at the Odessa Fairgrounds. Our judges were Reg Hughes on poultry, waterfowl, and rabbits, and Aaron Burn on pigeons.
The show was a good one with a total of 251 entries and good quality throughout. I noted particularly strong classes in large fowl Leghorns; Old English Game, Modern Game, Sebright, and Leghorn bantams; and Trumpeters, Rollers, Homers, and Tumblers in the pigeons.
The KDPPSA would like to thank Willows Agriservices for donating the feed and shavings used in the show, and Dave Snider and Bill Truscott who contributed special awards. We also thank our partners at the Odessa Agricultural Society for sponsoring the prize money, ribbons, and rosettes. Special thanks to our exhibitors and judges for making our show a success; to Bill Harrison for his usual excellent job as show chair; to Glen and Melanie Brushette for the great show room decorations; and to everyone who helped to set up and run the show.
